This blanket also took me the longest to make but was very worth it. Sorry about some of the pictures. It is hard to take good pictures of white objects. I took it outside and hung it over our wall on top of a sheet.

Blessing Day Blanket
So far I have 12 grandchildren and number 13 is on the way. I have crocheted a white blanket for each baby's blessing day. The 12th one is by far my favorite so far and the hardest one I have ever made.
It is made up of 64 squares each with a flower in the middle. Once all of the flowers were sewn together I crocheted a border around the outside and it was done.

This blanket also took me the longest to make but was very worth it. Sorry about some of the pictures. It is hard to take good pictures of white objects. I took it outside and hung it over our wall on top of a sheet.

Then I laid the sheet on the grass and laid it on top of that but it was windy. The minute I would get the sheet all straightened out the wind would blow it and I would have to start all over!

Blessing Day Dress
The top of the dress is satin and I found a beautiful trim that I hand sewed around the neckline and all the way around the bottom of the dress.
I made the rosette from the same ribbon that is on the front of the dress by watching this YouTube tutorial. It was the first time I made one - well, I actually made two but this one was the best of the two. The lace on the sleeve actually had elastic already sewn on so it made the sleeve so much easier to finish because I didn't have to sew a casing for the elastic and sew on the lace separately. I love, love, love shortcuts.
The blessing day was a lovely day. See below for a picture of the baby!
I saw an idea on Pinterest that I thought my daughter should do to memorialize the growth of her baby girl. She took a picture of her daughter on her one month-day and had a cute sign with her name, age, and some of the things she is doing already. I love this idea. The only thing I think is missing from this picture is the date! Next month!
We have recently been going through my deceased Uncle's home to clean out his belongings and sell the house and have found lots of pictures, some of babies and small children - and we cannot tell who is in the picture because there is nothing written on the back. Some of the pictures are very old and anyone who might know who is in the picture has long since died.
I know we all think we will look back at our pictures and know who is in them and what they were doing when... but I honestly cannot always tell which baby was which and how old they were, etc. Even birthday party pictures have to be gone through with some detective work (like counting the candles on the cake) to figure out how old the child is in the photo. How great to put the information right in the picture! I hope she continues doing this and does this with all of her children. I really recommend this idea!
